Happy Macaron Day!!!
Today is le Jour du Macaron (Macaron Day) in France. Created four years ago through a collaboration between renowned pastry chef Pierre Hermé and other members of the prestigious Association Relais Desserts, le Jour du Macaron raises money and awareness for the Federation des Maladies Orphelines children’s charity. Pop into any participating patisserie- including the four Pierre Hermé Paris boutiques, and you’ll receive 4 scrumptious macarons–gratuit (that means they’re free)! Each shop will have a box available to accept optional monetary donations to the FMO.

KLING
KLING was born in Spain to be sold in a unique exclusive store within El Mercado de Fuencarral, headquarter of design and creation of indie fashion in Madrid. After the huge success of its first collection, more people have shown a growing interest in the brand and its commercial potential. Thus, KLING has already opened 10 own stores in Spain and has become the fashion supplier for 400 multi-brand stores wholeover the world. (Source: myspace).
KLING's face is Spanish acoustic folk singer/songwriter Lourdes Hernández, aka Russian Red. Her beauty brings a timeless image for KLING, and I personally love the styling in the pictures... very 60's, you can see lots of Anna Karina and those muses from the french wave movement.
Their clothes are very cool and accessible for everyone. Definitely check out their website...
All of these pictures are modeled by Russian Red.

Those Dancing Days
This post is all about Swedish band: Those Dancing Days. They are an indie pop band with Northern Soul and girl-group influences, from Nacka, a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden, formed in 2005.The band consists of five young girls from Stockholm. Their name derives from the Led Zeppelin song "Dancing Days". Their music and lyrics are very realistic and girls their age feel completely identified with them, also having fun it's one of their most notable things... You can see it on their videos and when they play live, with their huge smiles and charming teenage personalities. It makes me feel like I'm in highschool and would totally love to have a band just like them.
Here's a video of their song "Run Run":
Their style is very cool and naive in a good way.. I totally love it, so I made a polyvore set inspired on it:

Style Icon: Alexa Chung
Definitely one stylish lady you need to know, Alexa Chung, this cool-brit-chic, french pop inspired and it girl is another style inspiration for me. She's the presenter of british show, "Popworld" , before that she used to model.
You can see some Françoise Hardy, Jane Birkin, Marianne Faithfull in her looks and she also cites being inspired in movies such as Doctor Zhivago, Annie Hall, Blowup, Picnic at Hanging Rock and Masculin, Féminin.
To get a hint of her style I recommend:
-Neutral palette in your wardrobe: lots of whites, black, navy blue, gray, denim
-Plaid prints and striped shirts
-Blazers (black, blue), a black leather jacket, knitted sweaters and cardis
-Simple short dresses, high waisted skirts, jumpers, skinny tight pants in dark colors.
-Flats,loafers and vintage heels (mostly black).
-Big vintage leather bags and totes
-60's kitten-like black eyeliner, lip balm and a touch of blush
-Long, plain chain necklaces and sometimes with a charm on it.

DIY window films
You’ll Need:
1. contact paper, clear (this is for lining drawers, you can find it at hardware or drug stores)
2. ruler
3. scissors or exacto
4. paint pen
5. tape
Instructions:
1. measure your window panes.
2. mark your dimensions on the contact paper and cut out your rectangles. i recommend using a ruler and an exacto blade, but if you draw a clean line and cut neatly with scissors that works as well.
3. tape down the edges of your rectangle with the white paper side down. this ensures you are painting on the non-sticky side of the contact paper.
4. using your paint pens, draw out your design on the contact paper.
5. let dry at least ten minutes.
6. carefully peel the paper back from the top of the film and place on the window pane. slowly pull the paper down and smooth down the contact paper with a piece of paper.

The lost scarf..
I lost my favorite floral scarf.. - by anoraks para dos on Polyvore.com
I lost my favorite scarf in the world a couple of months ago. I bought it on my trip to NY the past june at the Polish neighborhood aka Greenpoint, such a lovely place. I've been looking for it since ages and like two days ago I just gave up, but yesterday one of my very best friends and travel mate, Jose Pablo, told me that he bought a very similar one for me.. I'm so excited and just can't wait to see it when he comes back to San José.
The picture below is of me, my lost scarf and Laura Marling.. at least the picture brings only good memories to me.. A lovely scarf and a lovely concert as well :)
